| In 1965 the GTO option was available on the LeMans series for $295. Both the 1965 LeMans and the GTO were redesigned. The front end of the car had a completely new look. The hood came with one centrally located hood scoop. The trunk was painted spatter blue with green and gray flecks, whereas the 1964 trunks were painted the body color. In the interior the engine-tuned dash appliqué was replaced with wood veneer. Pontiac added the Rally gauge cluster and the Rally wheels to the option list in 1965. The hp was increased to 335 due to different camshafts and improved intake manifolds. The suspension was changed by the use of cross-member reinforcement brackets on GTOs with manual transmissions. |
