| The exterior of the 1967 GTO featured slight changed. The rocker panel moulding were larger and featured a GTO emblem. The rear taillight panel was new, and the plastic grille insert was replaced by a chrome wire mesh design. The 1967 dash panel used a split oval turn signal indicator. A hood-mounted tachometer was available. The steering wheel design was changed. A new three-speed Turbo Hydra motion automatic was introduced. It included the Hurst Dual Gate shifter. In 1967 the standard engine was a 400 ci V8 rated at 335 hp. A small number of Tri-Powered engines were built and installed on early 1967 GTOs before a corporate ban on multi carburetion took effect. The braking system was upgraded and for the first time power front disc brakes were optional. Also the Rally II wheels became available. |
